Hadith Qudsi 34

On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say:

"Allah, She who is the Almighty, said:
'Oh daughters of Eve, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. Oh daughters of Eve, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. Oh daughters of Eve, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as it.'"

[At-Tirmidhi (also by Ahmad ibn Hanbal). Its chain of authorities is sound.]

Does it make a difference to you that it says "Daughters of Eve" rather than "Sons of Adam"? Why or why not?

Hadith 18--Visit the Sick

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

"Allah (mighty and sublime be She) will say on the Day of Resurrection:
'O daughter of Eve, I fell ill and you visited Me not.' She will say: 'O Lord, and how should I visit You when You are the Lord of the worlds?' She will say: 'Did you not know that My servant So-and-so had fallen ill and you visited her not? Did you not know that had you visited her you would have found Me with her? O daughter of Eve, I asked you for food and you fed Me not.' She will say: 'O Lord, and how should I feed You when You are the Lord of the worlds?' She will say: 'Did you not know that My servant So-and-so asked you for food and you fed him not? Did you not know that had you fed him you would surely have found that (the reward for doing so) with Me? O daughter of Eve, I asked you to give Me to drink and you gave Me not to drink.' She will say: 'O Lord, how should I give You to drink when You are the Lord of the worlds?' She will say: 'My servant So-and-so asked you to give her a drink and you gave her nothing to drink. Had you given her a drink you would have surely found that with Me.'"

Hadith Qudsi 14

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said:

"Allah (glorified and exalted be She) has supernumerary angels who rove about seeking out gatherings in which Allah's name is being invoked: they sit with them and fold their wings round each other, filling in that which is between them and between the lowest heaven.

When [the people in the gathering] depart, [the angels] ascend and rise up to heaven." He (the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Then Allah (mighty and sublime be She) asks them - [though] She is most knowing about them: 'From where have you come?' And they say: 'We have come from some servants of Yours on Earth: they were glorifying You (Subhanallah), exalting you (Allahu akbar), witnessing that there is no god but You (La ilaha illa llah), praising You (Alhamdullilah), and asking [favours] of You.'

She (Allah) says: 'And what do they ask of Me?' They say: 'They ask of You Your Paradise.' She says: 'And have they seen My Paradise?' They say: 'No, O Lord.' She says: 'And how would it be were they to have seen My Paradise!' They say: 'And they ask protection of You.' She says: 'From what do they ask protection of Me?' They say: 'From Your Hell-fire, O Lord.' She says: 'And have they seen My Hellfire?' They say: 'No.' She says: 'And how would it be were they to have seen My Hellfire!' They say: 'And they ask for Your forgiveness.'" He (the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Then She says: 'I have forgiven them and I have bestowed upon them what they have asked for, and I have granted them sanctuary from that from which they asked protection.'"

He (the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "They say: 'O Lord, among then is So-and-so, a much sinning servant, who was merely passing by and sat down with them.'" He (the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "And She says: 'And to him [too] I have given forgiveness: he who sits with such people shall not suffer.'"

Hadith Qudsi 11--Spend on Charity

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said:

"Allah (mighty and sublime be She) said:
'Spend (on charity), O daughter of Eve, and I shall spend on you.'"

Hadith Qudsi 2

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

"Allah Almighty has said:

'The daughter of Eve denied Me and she had no right to do so. And she reviled Me and she had no right to do so. As for her denying Me, it is her saying: 'She will not remake me as She made me at first' (1) - and the initial creation [of her] is no easier for Me than remaking her. As for her reviling Me, it is her saying: 'Allah has taken to Herself a son,' while I am the One, the Everlasting Refuge. I begot not nor was I begotten, and there is none comparable to Me.'"

(1) i.e., bring me back to life after death.

Not sure I have this one right.  Does it matter if Allah calls you daughters of Eve to rebuke you? Does it make it "more personal" so that you sit up and listen?  ust as referring to Allah as only male can isolate women, also listening to hadith as pertaining only to "sons" of Adam (although that means all of humankind) can cause us to tune it out. 

Do you prefer daughters of Eve or sons and daughters of Adam and Eve?

Hadith Qudsi 1

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

"When Allah decreed the Creation She pledged Herself by writing in Her book which is laid down with Her: 'My mercy prevails over my wrath.'"

Ibn Arabi Sometimes Referred to Allah(swt) as She!

So, this is pretty amazing if true.  According to this article on Islam and the Divine Feminine

According to a commentary on Ibn al-‘Arabî's Fusûs al-hikam, a hadith of Prophet Muhammad "gave priority to the true femininity that belongs to the Essence." Ibn al-‘Arabî himself wrote that "I sometimes employ the feminine pronoun in addressing Allah, keeping in view the Essence."

That is why Ibn al-‘Arabî says Allah can be referred to as both huwa (He) and hiya (She).
